As part of Cosm's dynamic team, the role available focuses on maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene standards of all kitchenware and associated equipment within a fast-paced, high-volume environment. This position plays a crucial part in supporting the overall operational efficiency and sanitation compliance of the establishment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all silverware, plate-ware, glassware, cookware, and equipment are thoroughly cleaned and properly maintained to meet stringent Cosm safety and sanitation standards. The role demands attentiveness to detail, physical stamina, and a proactive approach to managing cleaning duties, ensuring a safe and organized workspace for all employees. This position requires an individual who can keep up with the fast tempo of the kitchen and restaurant environment, maintaining cleanliness in a manner that supports smooth daily operations and compliance with health regulations. The duties of this role encompass a broad range of responsibilities including washing dishes, glasses, pots, and pans; cleaning and maintaining trash bins; emptying kitchen and dish room garbage into dumpsters; and ensuring floors remain clean, dry, and free of obstacles. The dishroom must be kept orderly with proper rotation and storage of all dishware and cooking utensils. Additionally, this role involves regular cleaning of walk-in coolers and maintaining atmosphere control by circulating through the work area throughout shifts. Candidates will demonstrate the ability to operate dishwashing machinery, including assembling, disassembling, and descaling machines as needed. Maintaining compliance with Cosm’s sanitation and safety policies, as well as health code regulations, is paramount. Team collaboration is also encouraged, as assisting other employees across duties when needed will contribute to the smooth functioning of the kitchen team. Working in this position demands physical endurance, including prolonged periods standing and working on feet, and the capability to lift and handle items weighing up to 50 lbs using proper techniques.
