Slice was founded by Ilir Sela with the vision that local pizzerias and independent restaurants should not have to compromise their independence to benefit from the advantages that large franchises enjoy. Beginning with his family's own pizzerias, Slice has grown into a leading technology and services platform empowering tens of thousands of local restaurants across the country. The company equips these businesses with the tools, technology, and collective buying power necessary to better serve their digitally savvy customers and build thriving, sustainable business models that stand the test of time. Slice is committed to supporting local pizzerias by leveling the playing field and ensuring that they have access to affordable, high-quality supplies and services typically reserved for the largest franchise operations.
This particular role is part of "The Goods," a specialized program within Slice designed to address one of the most significant challenges faced by local independent restaurants: obtaining affordable, high-quality supplies. Traditionally, these restaurants pay higher prices and rely on outdated systems for ordering and receiving supplies, which creates inefficiencies and strains their operations. "The Goods" aims to solve this by enabling local restaurant owners to order what they need quickly and easily through an optimized online platform. Orders can be placed with just a few clicks and delivered promptly, ensuring that restaurants have the supplies they need to operate smoothly.
The role in question is a part-time delivery position, requiring approximately 20 hours per week. This role is dynamic and fast-paced, involving direct interaction with customers as well as supporting warehouse operations. Responsibilities include delivering essential supplies such as pizza boxes, paper bags, and plastic cutlery kits to local restaurant customers using Slice delivery vans. The delivery professional is also expected to maintain a positive and professional demeanor in all customer interactions. When not out on deliveries, the individual will support various warehouse functions including picking and packing orders, inventory staging and pulling, unloading shipments, palletizing goods, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Compensation for this position is competitive, with an hourly rate ranging from $20 to $23 depending on location, experience, and other relevant factors. This presents an excellent opportunity for motivated individuals looking to contribute to the success of local restaurants while working in a supportive, mission-driven company. The company values reliability, professionalism, teamwork, and a strong work ethic.
Slice is proud of its inclusive culture and commitment to diversity and equal opportunity. The company embraces candidates from various backgrounds and is dedicated to creating a welcoming environment free from discrimination based on race, color, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, religion, disability, national origin, veteran status, age, or other protected characteristics. Slice is also an active participant in the Diversity Mark NI initiative as a Bronze Member, reflecting its dedication to promoting diversity and inclusion at all levels of the organization.
The hiring process for this part-time role is structured to be efficient and welcoming. It involves an initial application, a brief introductory call with a recruiter, a follow-up call with a member of "The Goods" team, a visit to the warehouse for a 30-minute in-person assessment, and a background check. Upon successful completion of these steps, candidates receive an offer to join the team and begin making an impact immediately. This efficient process is designed to take between one to two weeks, ensuring a swift transition from candidate to team member.
Overall, the position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals who enjoy dynamic work environments, value community impact, and want to help local restaurants thrive by ensuring they have timely access to quality supplies. Those who join Slice become part of a larger mission to support independent restaurateurs in adapting to today’s digitally driven marketplace while preserving their unique identity and independence.
