The Day Porter role at ABM focuses on maintaining cleanliness and upkeep of assigned facilities. This position is ideal for individuals entering or returning to the workforce with limited work experience or formal education, as no previous experience or educational qualifications are required and on-the-job training is provided. The primary responsibility of the Day Porter is to ensure that buildings and their surroundings are clean, safe, and well-maintained, contributing to a positive environment for employees, clients, and visitors.
Day Porters perform a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks including cleaning and dusting furniture, floors, fixtures, windows, and restrooms; following procedures for safe use of cleaning chemicals and power equipment; moving furniture and equipment to facilitate cleaning; and performing seasonal tasks such as snow removal, leaf raking, and grass cutting. They are expected to report repairs or maintenance needs to management and uphold safety, security, and quality standards across all duties. Effective communication with clients, colleagues, and supervisors is essential for coordinating tasks and maintaining facility standards.
