The Day Porter position at CCS is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring that the common areas of office buildings, apartment complexes, and other commercial or institutional buildings remain clean, safe, and orderly throughout the day. This role involves a variety of essential duties such as spot cleaning lobby glass doors, polishing chrome on lobby doors, vacuuming elevator cabins twice daily, inspecting the exterior premises for trash, cleaning ashtrays and sand urns on each floor, and emptying outdoor trash receptacles. The Day Porter also maintains cleanliness in stairwells and landings, sweeps building entrances, removes debris from landscaped areas, and checks restrooms regularly to uphold sanitary standards. In addition to these physical cleaning tasks, the Day Porter supports the building management by reporting maintenance concerns such as burned-out lights and solicitors, helping to secure the property and enhance the overall environment for tenants and visitors. The role demands a proactive approach, with scheduled policing of high-traffic areas to keep floors and planters free of debris, dust mopping the lobby floors twice daily, and polishing elevator cab railings and doors.
