The position available at FedEx Logistics is for a Customs Entry Coordinator, a critical role responsible for managing and coordinating all documentation required by U.S. Customs and other federal government agencies for the entry of goods into the United States on behalf of importers. This role demands high attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a time-sensitive environment. The Customs Entry Coordinator will provide impeccable customer service ensuring all import documentation is accurate and compliant with regulations, facilitating smooth customs releases and timely delivery of shipments. In this role, the candidate will obtain accurate classification of imported goods by utilizing various resources such as internal databases, standard operating procedures, tariff books, internet research, and customs regulations to ensure correct tariff and duty application. They will be responsible for data entry and the processing of import-related documentation submitted to U.S. Customs and Participating Government Agencies (PGAs). Maintaining and updating shipment documentation in compliance with record-keeping requirements is a key function, alongside strict adherence to international importing and exporting regulations. The Customs Entry Coordinator will collaborate closely with internal departments, other FedEx operational units, external customers, brokers, carriers, and government agencies to deliver a high level of service and resolve any discrepancies or issues promptly. The role includes processing agency brokerage shipments and may involve remote filing responsibilities. Candidates should expect to work Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, initially in-office until proficiency standards are met, after which a hybrid work arrangement may be available. The position requires a minimum of a high school diploma or GED, with no previous industry experience necessary. Paid training is provided. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential to interact effectively across multiple stakeholders. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Outlook, and office equipment like phones, fax machines, printers, and scanners is expected. Candidates must demonstrate excellent organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, manage high volumes of work, and handle time-sensitive tasks independently with minimal supervision.
