The role of Customs Trade Agent at FedEx Logistics is a vital position responsible for the coordination and management of documentation necessary to comply with U.S. Customs and other government agency regulations for the entry of goods into the United States. This full-time position operates Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM and offers a competitive starting salary ranging from $13.63 to $21.29 per hour based on experience, job level, and location. As a Customs Trade Agent, the individual will be tasked with providing impeccable customer service while ensuring accurate classification of goods through various tools such as databases, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), tariff books, and government customs references. The job entails handling data entry and processing of import documentation for submission to U.S. Customs, while potentially managing limited Participating Government Agencies (PGAs) requirements. It is critical for the agent to maintain compliance with all record-keeping regulations and international import laws. Collaboration with internal staff and departments is essential to deliver high-quality service to customers.
The Customs Trade Agent role also involves processing agency brokerage shipments, adhering strictly to governmental and organizational policies, and performing additional duties as assigned. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, email platforms like Outlook, and standard office equipment such as phone systems, fax, photocopiers, printers, and scanners is mandatory. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are necessary for success in this fast-paced, high-volume work environment.
