The role being offered is a hybrid position based in South San Francisco, focusing on customs brokerage and customer service within FedEx Logistics. This position plays a crucial part in ensuring timely and compliant movement of freight and cargo, acting as a vital interface between customers, customs authorities, brokers, and other service providers. The role involves providing impeccable customer service while managing detailed documentation and regulatory compliance related to customs laws and federal regulations. Employees in this role are responsible for anticipating, identifying, and resolving any issues that might delay freight release or cause disruption in the logistics chain.
Working hours for this position are Monday through Friday, from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm PST, providing a stable schedule with a hybrid work model. The salary range for this role is hourly between $16.60 and $26.34, with the exact starting pay determined by experience, market level, and location-based pay practices. In this position, duties include preparing and submitting accurate customs documentation, maintaining strong relationships with brokers and other service providers, and resolving complex billing and banking issues. Effective communication skills are essential, as the role requires frequent correspondence with clients and internal teams across various mediums such as phone, email, and written communication.
The job demands a high level of organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work independently with minimal supervision while handling a large volume of time-sensitive tasks. Knowledge of the Harmonized Tariff System (HTS) and U.S. Customs regulations is highly preferred to ensure compliance and accurate classification of goods. This position also requires a dedicated and detail-oriented professional capable of supporting small office structures by performing administrative duties related to customs trade processes.
