The Customer Service position at Cardenas Markets is pivotal in enhancing the customer shopping experience through attentive service and accurate cash handling at the front end of the store. This role functions as the face of the company by greeting and assisting customers in a friendly, service-oriented manner while embodying the company’s core values. With a competitive compensation rate of $19.25 per hour, the position offers candidates a rewarding career path within a supportive and dynamic retail environment. The customer service representative plays a vital role in the operational flow by handling cash transactions, operating point-of-sale (POS) equipment, and supporting the Frontend Manager when necessary, ensuring smooth daily store operations. The individual is expected to maintain high standards for cleanliness, safety, and organization and to contribute positively to a team-oriented workplace by fostering good relationships with both customers and colleagues. This position requires dedication to providing outstanding service by understanding and responding thoughtfully to customer inquiries or concerns, processing returns and refunds, and maintaining balanced cash drawers. Additionally, the role is responsible for scheduling coverage for break periods among cashiers and courtesy clerks, completing shift procedures accurately, and supporting overall store presentation. The position demands walking and standing continuously throughout shifts and the physical ability to lift merchandise up to 30 pounds occasionally, reflecting the interactive and active nature of the job.
