Working collaboratively with a diverse range of customers, including the U.S. military, commercial businesses, community partners, as well as federal, state, and local governments, GCE proudly stands as one of the largest private employers of persons with disabilities in the United States. Furthermore, the Custodian role entails various physical activities such as bending, crouching, walking, climbing stairs and ladders, reaching above the head, sitting (primarily while driving), and lifting up to 40 pounds regularly, with occasional lifts or moves up to 50 pounds. While most work typically occurs indoors, custodians may be required to travel to and from multiple locations and work under different weather conditions throughout the year. Additionally, Custodians must comply with emergency operational work assignments as designated by customer requirements. GCE also ensures reasonable accommodations are made for individuals with disabilities to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The organization values professionalism and expects team members to follow instructions carefully, whether oral or written, and to interact appropriately with customers, government personnel, and fellow staff members. Candidates must meet eligibility requirements for specific work assignments and pass all organizational screening procedures, including state or federal background checks as applicable. GCE is committed to fostering an inclusive workplace, encourages individuals with disabilities and veterans to apply, and maintains a drug-free workplace policy requiring drug testing as a condition of employment.
