The position centers around managing and overseeing the food service operations within a residential facility. The successful candidate will supervise food service staff, coordinate food preparation with an emphasis on nutritional balance and dietary compliance, and manage inventory through precise ordering and budget management. Detailed responsibilities include preparing menus, adjusting recipes to meet serving size requirements, maintaining financial oversight by preparing invoices and purchase orders for administrative approval, and ensuring all meal preparations follow approved menus and health department standards. Strict adherence to infection control, sanitation policies, and operational hygiene is paramount. Besides food service, this role also involves supervising laundry and linen changes along with the sanitization of residential rooms to maintain a clean and healthy living environment. The skills required involve the ability to follow and scale recipes efficiently, a solid grasp of food safety and sanitation protocols, strong supervisory and organizational capabilities, and preferred experience in basic budgeting and purchasing. This role is pivotal in creating a safe, nutritious, and well-organized residential food service experience, contributing to the overall well-being of the residents and the success of the organization.
