The Midshift Pastry Cook position at Copain SouthPark represents a key role within this artisan bakery and cafe setting. This role is integral in maintaining the high standards Copain is known for by working collaboratively with the Head Pastry Chef and morning production team to finish and package pastries to perfection. The Midshift Pastry Cook serves as the vital bridge between the morning and evening pastry teams, ensuring an organized, efficient, and high-quality pastry kitchen environment. Responsibilities include acting as the final quality checkpoint, meticulously finishing, glazing, and decorating a variety of pastries such as tarts, entremets, and cupcakes for both retail and wholesale presentation. The role demands attention to detail to uphold Copain's esteemed standards for appearance and consistency. Additionally, the Midshift Pastry Cook must manage daily production counts, maintain clear communication with pastry chefs regarding product quality and timing, and oversee the cleanliness and orderliness of the kitchen—managing stocking and organization of ingredients, packaging supplies, and finished goods. This position offers a consistent schedule, typically from 11 AM to 7 PM, competitive hourly pay with prospects for growth, and the opportunity to work in a collaborative, craft-driven kitchen environment.
