The Coordinator of Campus Dining, Catering, and Events is a professional staff position within the CAHMI Purchasing Department at UA-PTC. This role involves comprehensive planning and coordination of dining services across multiple campus locations, including the North Little Rock campus, South Location, Business and Industry Center, and North Little Rock Aviation Location. Reporting directly to the Executive Director of CAHMI, the Coordinator ensures exceptional customer service, quality control, and cost-effective management of daily food services and catering activities.
Key responsibilities include managing daily food service operations at the North Little Rock and South campuses, coordinating catering events, and supervising menu planning to meet the needs of various campus functions and community events. The role demands ongoing collaboration with the Director and Sous Chefs to manage food ordering, receiving, storage, preparation, and service processes, including budgeting and monitoring food and labor costs.
The Coordinator will also be responsible for scheduling, training, and evaluating catering staff, including work-study and practicum students, ensuring compliance with system policies and regulations. This position requires flexibility to work nights and weekends to support scheduled events and adequate travel between campuses.
In addition, the Coordinator will oversee point-of-sale systems, recipe costing, inventory management, and maintain all relevant documentation related to catering and dining operations. They will serve as the primary liaison for event planning logistics, ensuring that every event is executed flawlessly, from room setups to post-event cleanups, including necessary coordination with Facilities Management, IT Services, and other departments.
This role also involves establishing and managing contracts, quotes, and agreements for campus events, ensuring legal and institutional requirements are met, especially for specialized events involving unique participant needs. The Coordinator is tasked with fostering positive client relationships, managing marketing activities such as promotional events, and supporting the overarching goals and reputation of both CAHMI and UA-PTC.
This is a regular, professional staff position with a competitive salary range of $40,000 to $42,000 annually.
