ASC is currently looking to hire full-time Cooks for the evening shift to join its culinary team. In this vital role, cooks are responsible for preparing and serving delicious and nutritious meals tailored to meet the dietary requirements of senior residents. The cook plays a crucial role in ensuring that all meals not only adhere to specific health and nutrition guidelines but also maintain the highest standards of sanitation and food safety. This position is ideal for someone passionate about food preparation within a healthcare setting, where the quality and safety of each meal contribute directly to residents' well-being and quality of life.
Working as a Cook at ASC involves following detailed recipes corresponding to carefully designed menus that meet the nutritional needs of elderly residents. The cook will prepare palatable, attractive, and nutritionally balanced meals in the appropriate quantities, often adapting meal times and menu items as needed. Beyond food preparation, the cook will also lead kitchen staff in day-to-day kitchen activities such as assembling food trays, cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment, and managing storage of food supplies. Maintaining a clean and safe food service area during meal preparation and service is a critical duty. In addition, the cook must handle, store, and dispose of food supplies according to departmental procedures and comply with relevant state and federal regulations to maintain food safety standards.
The role emphasizes team leadership and communication, as cooks often guide kitchen staff and collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless meal delivery. It offers an opportunity for career growth within a company that values education and professional development, providing access to mentorship programs, continuing education partnerships with colleges, and financial assistance for education. Working at ASC means joining a supportive culture that values each team member's contribution through recognition programs and a strong commitment to work-life balance.
This position is full-time and offers competitive compensation and benefits including health insurance options (medical, dental, vision), employee assistance programs, paid time off, retirement plans like 401(k), and wellness coaching. ASC also provides unique employee benefits such as early access to earnings, employee referral bonuses, life insurance, and employee discount programs.
