The position available is for a Cook role at Vintage Grocers, designed for individuals who are passionate about food preparation and maintaining high standards of freshness and hygiene. This role is open for full-time or part-time employment opportunities, offering an hourly pay range between $21.00 and $24.00. The Cook will be responsible for preparing and keeping all food products fresh and at the proper temperature following Vintage Grocers standards. Maintaining cleanliness, product quality, portion control, speed, and efficiency are priorities in this role to support the overall store's productivity and profitability. In this role, the Cook will actively lead the Back-of-House Team by example and with integrity, supporting the management team in day-to-day operations. The individual will ensure that all food products are dated, stored correctly, and rotated as necessary to maintain quality and compliance with health code regulations. Attention to detail in portion control and inventory management is essential, alongside working efficiently to meet or exceed the store's service time standards. The Cook will also maintain personal hygiene and adhere to the company’s dress code and safety policies, including the proper use of hairnets and gloves. Effective communication with team members is vital to ensure smooth operations within the deli department. The role involves using training materials to onboard new deli staff and leading training sessions related to product rollouts, ensuring that the entire team is well-equipped with current knowledge and skills. This position is ideal for someone with restaurant experience who can handle the fast-paced environment of a grocery deli. Previous Kitchen Manager experience is preferred but not required. The Cook must demonstrate the ability to make quick decisions regarding food quality and quantity, and be willing to work closely with others for extended periods. Reliable transportation and punctuality are required to maintain consistent workflow and team cohesion.
