The Cook position at UCSF Medical Center is a crucial role within the culinary services team. This role involves the preparation of food for various services including Patient Food Services, Cafés, Coffee Shops, and conference center events. The Cook is responsible for establishing and monitoring food quality standards to ensure consistency and the highest standards of food safety and quality, including temperature monitoring. As a vital member of the culinary services team, the Cook plays an active role in solving operational problems before, during, and after meal periods, ensuring smooth and efficient food service operations. Working in this capacity requires not only strong culinary skills but also adherence to safety and sanitation guidelines within the department. The incumbent will assist in maintaining these standards to provide a safe and hygienic environment for both staff and patients.   • State of California Food Handler Certification or within three months of hire
