The Cook role is critical in ensuring quality food services are consistently provided in hospital and healthcare dining environments. This full-time cook position offers a competitive pay range of $15.45 to $19.00 per hour and comes with a schedule that may vary, including days, weekends, holidays, early mornings, and late-night shifts. Applicants must possess prior commercial cooking experience due to the fast-paced, high-standard nature of this position. As a Cook at Morrison Healthcare, you will be responsible for preparing meals according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery, and service schedules. Precision in portion control, presentation, and maintaining proper serving temperatures is required while ensuring food quality and safety by following Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) standards. The role also demands consistent adherence to cleanliness and safety protocols such as the use of appropriate protective gloves when handling knives and hot pans, slip-resistant shoes, and proper lifting techniques to maintain a safe working environment. Your duties will extend beyond food preparation, including cleaning kitchen areas immediately after service, maintaining neat and sanitary refrigerators and storerooms, operating and maintaining kitchen equipment, and assisting with inventory management, ordering, and receiving food and supplies. The Cook will also be expected to contribute to production planning, record-keeping, and compliance with workplace safety standards.
