As a Cook in this dynamic environment, you will play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of the kitchen. Your responsibilities will include preparing a variety of foods ordered by customers, utilizing grills, ovens, fryers, and other kitchen tools to deliver high-quality meals promptly. The role demands strict adherence to sanitation and safety regulations in alignment with Health Department Rules and Regulations. There is a focus on preparing specialty foods such as pizzas, chicken, and steaks, which requires keeping pace in a fast-moving environment and maintaining quality and consistency in each dish.
Additionally, the Cook will be responsible for tasks such as verifying the quality and quantity of prepared foods, managing kitchen and food storage areas, conducting shift opening and closing duties, and restocking products throughout the shift. Collaboration with the Kitchen Manager is essential, particularly in planning daily specials and exploring innovative cooking methods and new menu items. You will also monitor ingredient availability in advance to prevent shortages, communicating promptly with management if stock levels are insufficient.
This cooking position is ideal for someone with prior kitchen experience who exhibits excellent multitasking capabilities and thrives under pressure in a fast-paced setting. A background in hospitality or customer service is advantageous, along with the ability to obtain a Food Handler's Card, which is a mandatory certification for employment. The successful candidate will be at least 21 years of age and must be willing to work evening shifts as well as weekends.
