Avalon Care Center Federal Way is currently seeking a dependable, enthusiastic, and dedicated Cook to join their outstanding team. This full-time position offers an hourly pay rate starting at $24.78 with scheduled shifts on Fridays and Saturdays from 5:30 AM to 1:00 PM and Sundays and Mondays from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The Cook plays a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations of the dietary services department, responsible for preparing food according to prescribed resident diet specifications and facility procedures. Under the supervision of the Dietary Services Manager, the Cook ensures that meals served meet dietary and sanitary regulations while maintaining high standards of taste and presentation. Enthusiasm and compassion are key attributes for this role as the team works together to celebrate life every day through quality the care and food service they provide. The role requires attention to detail in following recipes, portion control, temperature standards, and menu planning, making food safety and hygiene a top priority. Additionally, the Cook assists with cleaning and sanitizing work areas and equipment to maintain a safe and healthy environment for residents and staff alike. The ability to work in a non-temperature regulated environment around ovens, stoves, and walk-in refrigerators and freezers is essential. Inventory management and reporting any hazardous conditions are also part of the Cook’s responsibilities, ensuring smooth kitchen operations and resident satisfaction.                 - High school diploma or equivalent
 - Food Handler’s permit or ServSafe certification as per State requirements
 - Ability to read, write, and effectively communicate in English
