ISS/Guckenheimer is currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to join their team. This full-time position offers an hourly wage ranging from $22.00 to $23.25, with final compensation determined by experience and skills. Work hours are scheduled from approximately 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday. In this role, the Cook is responsible for accurately and efficiently fulfilling preparation lists, tasks, and food preparation across various meal periods including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special catered events. The Cook will play an essential role in maintaining kitchen organization and cleanliness to ensure a safe environment for both employees and guests. The successful candidate will follow workplace safety guidelines, food safety guidelines, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) policies, and internal audit procedures diligently every day. Experience with large volume culinary equipment such as slicers, large mixers, food processors, blenders, and choppers is essential. A minimum of one year of professional cooking experience or an equivalent education is required. Key accountabilities of the Cook include clocking in and out for shifts and breaks, providing high quality service in line with ISS/Guckenheimer and client standards, and utilizing food preparation procedures that comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. The Cook is expected to apply basic cooking and prep techniques, execute recipe preparation from NetMenu according to production sheets or direction from supervisory chefs, and maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment following company and government regulations. Additionally, the Cook must promptly notify management of any issues related to ingredient availability, food or equipment safety, or other situations needing attention. Attendance at all required meetings and performing other duties as assigned are also part of the role. The physical demands include standing for extended periods of up to eight hours, reaching, bending, stooping, pushing or pulling, and frequently lifting up to 35 pounds. Team lifts and use of transportation carts are encouraged for handling heavy loads. The employee must adhere to the company’s dress code and be able to work effectively under pressure during peak times.
