The Food Services department at Allina Health seeks a permanent evening cook to join their dedicated team, working 20 hours per week with a rotating weekend schedule. This role, aligned with the SEIU-4-United Service Workers-SUH contract, involves preparing and serving appetizing and nutritious food to patients, staff, and visitors, a crucial part of the healing and care process. The cook position demands adherence to food safety standards, proper cooking, cooling, and storage techniques to ensure quality and compliance with health regulations. Responsibilities include following standardized recipes, understanding special dietary needs in consultation with dietitians, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen environment. This is a part-time position with a pay range between $21.83 and $28.40 per hour, depending on experience and other factors, with opportunities for shift and weekend differentials. Working in an evening shift from 4 PM to 8 PM on weekdays and extended weekend hours, this position enables the cook to actively support the food service operations in a healthcare setting that values nutritious meals as part of patient care and staff wellness.
