The Head Cook role at gategroup is a pivotal position within the catering operations, primarily focused on preparing and cooking a variety of food items according to detailed recipes and airline specifications. This position requires oversight of the production team, monitoring quality standards and ensuring efficiency in meal preparation to meet high-volume institutional catering demands. The Head Cook must be adept at handling multiple food products such as seafood, beef, pork, poultry, fruits, and vegetables, and be proficient with kitchen tools and safety procedures. This role also involves assembling equipment based on procedural diagrams and packaging alcoholic beverages for airline flights, maintaining compliance with sanitation and inventory standards.
In addition to culinary skills, the Head Cook serves as a team leader supporting production quality and efficiency, and may be assigned additional duties by management. Adherence to company policies, punctuality, and the ability to work a varied schedule including weekends and holidays are essential.
