Candidates should have experience and knowledge of cooking methods and procedures gained from previous work in grills, snack bars, restaurants, or similar food activities. The position requires the ability to follow both oral and written instructions accurately, maintain safe work practices, and perform basic arithmetic calculations as part of food preparation processes. Understanding how to operate and clean food service equipment is essential, as is knowledge of the characteristics of various foods. The employee must be skilled in seasoning food properly and determining when food items are adequately cooked, ensuring that customers receive high-quality meals. Applicants of all backgrounds are encouraged to apply, and the hiring process will consider various preferences including Business Based Action, Military Spouse Preference, Outside Applicant Veteran status, Spouse/Widow/Parent of Veteran, and Transition Hiring Preference.
