The Cook 2 position at Invited represents a vital junior-level role within the culinary team, designed for individuals who possess a strong understanding of culinary techniques and are ready to take on more complex responsibilities compared to entry-level roles. As a Cook 2, you will be responsible for the setup, food preparation, and maintenance of your workstation, ensuring that all dishes meet Invited's high standards of quality and presentation. Your daily duties will include preparing a diverse range of menu items such as salads, entrees, soups, meats, gravies, vegetables, desserts, and baked goods, while adhering to recipes and safety standards. You will work closely with Cook 1 and Cook 3 team members, helping to coordinate kitchen operations smoothly and supporting leaders in menu planning, recipe testing, and inventory control. This role emphasizes teamwork, cleanliness, and professional communication, as you will also engage with members and guests to accommodate special requests and ensure excellent service delivery. The position reports to the Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef, or Executive Chef and may involve supervisory responsibilities during certain shifts. - High school diploma or equivalent
- Four or more years of experience in a kitchen environment
- Valid food handler certifications as required by state and city regulations
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical activities for extended periods
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and environments, including exposure to dust, fumes, or gases
- Capable of climbing ladders, squatting, kneeling, reaching, grasping, twisting, bending, and folding/unfolding as required
- Able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 100 lbs. occasionally
- Effective communication skills, including talking and hearing, with sufficient visual acuity
