The Cook role at KidsPeace is crucial in ensuring that all meals served to clients, staff, and guests meet high standards of quality, nutrition, and safety. This position involves preparing and assisting in the delivery of various meals following prescribed menus and dietary requirements. The cook will follow weekly cycle menus and production worksheets while accurately recording daily food preparation amounts and usage, including special dietary needs. The role requires the use of standardized recipes to prepare hot and cold food items and rigorous monitoring of daily refrigeration, food, and dishwasher temperatures to comply with safety regulations. This position is not only about cooking but also maintaining excellent sanitation and cleanliness of serving areas to uphold the organization’s health and safety standards. Working within a supportive team environment under the supervision of management, the cook will contribute significantly to the wellbeing of the children and other individuals served by KidsPeace. The ideal candidate must have prior cooking experience, preferably in high-volume settings, be able to work flexibly depending on departmental needs, and be at least 21 years old. A valid driver's license is required for this position, which offers a starting wage of $18.87 per hour and a comprehensive benefits package including generous paid time off.
