The role of Cook at OTO Development offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the culinary excellence that complements the company’s renowned hotel operations. This position involves preparing high-quality food for the on-property restaurant, banquets, and special functions, ensuring that every dish meets the exacting standards expected by guests and management alike. As a Cook, you will be responsible for the proper and efficient preparation and presentation of all food items, including the accommodation of special guest requests to enhance their dining experience.
Your duties will also encompass management of food inventory to minimize waste and spoilage through proper rotation of food in walk-ins and freezers. Maintaining the cleanliness and safety of all food preparation areas is critical, as is assisting with ordering necessary food supplies as directed. The role requires strict adherence to specifications to properly set up hot and cold line stations each day, and clear, professional communication with supervisors about any guest requests or operational issues.
Safety is a paramount consideration in this role, with ongoing responsibilities to report suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions immediately. You will practice and promote safe work habits consistently to protect yourself and others, complying with all company and departmental safety protocols, including proper handling of equipment and machinery. Cross-training may also be part of your duties to broaden your skills and support team operations.
This physically demanding position requires comfort with standing, sitting, walking, bending, lifting, and squatting for extended periods. While the job primarily takes place on the property or within the surrounding area, travel requirements are minimal to nonexistent. The pay scale for this role ranges from $15.41 to $28.87 per hour, contingent upon state, market conditions, and experience, reflecting fair and competitive compensation.
