This role invites an experienced professional to join as an F-35 Contractor Instructor Pilot (CIP), based in Rovaniemi, Finland. The position is integral to the execution of F-35 training operations, directly supporting Finnish Air Force flight training requirements. The CIP will be responsible for delivering a wide range of training activities, primarily focusing on utilizing the F-35 Full Mission Simulator (FMS) and the Instructor Operating Station (IOS). As a Subject Matter Expert (SME), the Instructor Pilot will not only provide pilot training but also contribute to tactics development and provide feedback for updating courseware that enhances training effectiveness. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with both the Lockheed Martin Training Team and the Finnish Air Force, ensuring training objectives and continuation training goals are consistently met. Responsibilities include supporting military pilots in maintaining qualification through approved syllabi, upgrade programs, and tactics training. Reporting and administrative duties such as preparing lesson plans, managing training records, evaluating student performance, and ensuring compliance with training standards also fall under this role. Operating in Rovaniemi, Finland, the candidate will immerse themselves in a unique Arctic environment, known for its stunning landscapes, rich Sami heritage, and vibrant Finnish culture. This location offers numerous opportunities for outdoor activities, including skiing and hiking, along with the rare chance to witness the Northern Lights. Lockheed Martin provides relocation and housing assistance, accompanied status for qualifying dependents, and foreign location premiums to support this overseas assignment. Candidates must hold an active Secret security clearance and have Special Access Program (SAP) access to qualify for this position. The role requires a suitable degree or equivalent experience combined with specialized training. The successful Instructor Pilot will demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of military publications, expertise in fourth and fifth-generation fighter aircraft flight operations, and proficiency in current instructional techniques and training delivery methods.
