The role involves supervising and training volunteers at the Reception and Information (R&I) desk to ensure smooth daily operations. Work hours for this position are variable, with a requirement to complete a 10-hour shift per working day, totaling 40 hours per week. The shift schedules are flexible but will include weekend work as needed, without on-call responsibilities. The hourly pay ranges from $26.40 to $32.48, reflecting competitive compensation aligned with the healthcare industry standards and union agreements under the SEIU-UHW Collective Bargaining Agreement.\n\nThe incumbent will play an essential role in managing communications, coordinating appointments, attending to visitor inquiries, and ensuring a welcoming and well-run lobby area. They will utilize hospital databases to provide accurate directions, maintain records and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, medical staff, and other departments. Active listening, customer engagement, and problem resolution are at the heart of this role, which also includes responsibility for managing lost and found belongings and supervising volunteers.
