The Carroll Inn, part of MidPen’s property portfolio, is currently seeking a Community Manager to join its Property Management team. This role is ideal for candidates passionate about making a meaningful difference in affordable housing. The Community Manager will oversee the daily operations of one or more affordable housing properties, ensuring smooth and compliant property management while directly impacting residents’ lives. Reporting to the Property Manager, the Community Manager leads a small team responsible for various operational facets including fiscal management, regulatory compliance, facilities maintenance, resident relations, and community engagement. Rooted in MidPen's ICARE values (Integrity, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence), the successful candidate will act as a cornerstone for the community, driving both resident satisfaction and operational excellence. Key responsibilities include supervising property staff, managing rent collection, maintaining compliance with housing regulations such as Fair Housing and HUD, coordinating maintenance and repairs, processing resident applications and certifications, and fostering partnerships with local organizations and officials. Proactive risk management and marketing available units effectively to minimize turnover times are also essential. This position offers an opportunity to develop leadership skills within the multi-family residential management sector, particularly in affordable housing, with a pay range of $27.16 to $33.95 hourly based on experience and qualifications.   • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum three years of experience in multi-family residential management including at least two years in affordable housing
  • At least one year of supervisory experience
  • Ability to obtain Tax Credit Specialist or Certified Occupancy Specialist certification within six months
  • Knowledge of Fair Housing laws and ability to pass FHA test within 60 days
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and property management software
  • Strong communication and regulatory interpretation skills
  • Valid California Driver's License with reliable transportation and auto insurance
