CPLC's Early Childhood Development (ECD) programs stand as a beacon of hope and opportunity for young children in low-income communities, ensuring that every child, irrespective of their circumstances at birth, is provided with the tools and environment to succeed in school and life. As a dedicated non-profit organization, CPLC focuses on delivering full-day, full-year early childhood development services specifically tailored for children aged 0 to 3 years. These services do not just aim at child care but extend to fostering educationally stimulating learning environments that support holistic development. Over the years, CPLC has earned a distinguished reputation for its unwavering commitment to nurturing young minds and empowering families through education, engagement, and community collaboration. The Parent Family Community Engagement and Governance Specialist role within CPLC's ECD programs is pivotal in shaping the environment where children and families thrive. This full-time position involves guiding and implementing program governance alongside parent, family, and community engagement strategies that align with CPLC’s mission and the Head Start Program Performance Standards. Reporting directly to the Family and Community Engagement Services Coordinator, the Specialist collaborates intensively with Content Area Coordinators and Specialists, Managers, Family Services Staff, and other site personnel. The role is designed to foster a cohesive partnership between staff and families, encouraging active participation from parents and caregivers in their children’s development journey. A critical component of the role is promoting school readiness by preparing children and families for future educational success and life skills development. The Specialist is expected to supervise children continuously by sight and sound across all learning spaces, ensuring adherence to strict health and safety regulations to maintain an optimum, safe learning environment. Additionally, the position requires facilitation of health practices that keep children safe during school transportation and outdoor and indoor activities. This role demands an individual with a strong foundation in family services, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to build effective community partnerships. The ideal candidate will have an educational background in social or human services and experience working with culturally diverse, low-income families. The position offers a rewarding opportunity to impact children’s lives positively while being supported by a comprehensive benefits package that addresses the well-being of both employees and their families, including medical, dental, vision benefits, and generous paid time off.
