The Community Engagement Coordinator role is an integral position within Sojourner Center, focusing on fostering community involvement through the Volunteer Program and Donation Resource Center Program. This role is responsible for attracting, orienting, training, tracking, and retaining volunteers as well as managing relationships with in-kind donors. An essential part of this position is to maintain strong communication with volunteers and donors, ensuring their ongoing engagement and recognition for their contributions. The coordinator works collaboratively across various programs within the organization to support staff, enhance program delivery, and foster a greater community connection to the center's mission. This full-time position offers a competitive hourly wage of $21.00 and follows a Monday through Friday schedule.
As a Community Engagement Coordinator, the individual will play a critical role in recruiting and managing volunteers, ensuring that the onboarding process includes appropriate background checks and adherence to best practices. The coordinator will maintain detailed records and reports on volunteer hours, demographics, and activities using the Bloomerang database. Additionally, the position involves training and equipping volunteers with necessary knowledge and skills, preparing quarterly training sessions to improve volunteer effectiveness. It also includes responsibilities in donor communications, community outreach, event planning, and representation of Sojourner Center at various public forums and networking groups. This role offers ample opportunities for professional development and requires flexibility for occasional travel and evening or weekend commitments.
                - High school or equivalent
 - computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and Bloomerang desired
 - valid Arizona Driver License
 - proof of automobile insurance
 - Motor Vehicle Record acceptable to Sojourner Center’s insurance company
 - ability to obtain a Level I Fingerprint Clearance Card
