We are currently seeking full-time Communications Specialists/Dispatchers based in New York, New York, with a starting pay of $23.50 per hour. This essential role involves receiving critical medical transportation requests and relaying this information to the medical flight crew serving the region. Communications Specialists/Dispatchers must operate efficiently under pressure, demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, and maintain sharp focus on all aircraft in flight. The position requires competencies in operating radios, information systems, and other equipment associated with the Air Medical Communications Center. In this role, you will be the link ensuring timely and accurate communication between medical personnel and transport resources. Responsibilities include fielding requests promptly and courteously, providing excellent customer service, and navigating complex regulatory guidelines such as the Federal Aviation Administration regulations. You will participate in ongoing staff development to maintain updated knowledge and skills, promote patient and crew safety, initiate post-accident incident plans when necessary, and represent Flight Com both internally and externally. Additional duties involve collaboration with operational control, maintenance, aviation, and program staff to ensure safe and efficient dispatch and flight following processes. You will be expected to adhere strictly to Flight Com policies and procedures, maintain data accuracy and integrity, and stay current with disaster response protocols, participating in evacuation exercises when necessary. This position requires clear, concise radio communication with compliance to FCC regulations and the ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced, high-stress environments.   • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Some work experience in dispatch or customer service
  • NAACS, IAMTCS certification or industry equivalent
  • Emergency Medical Dispatch certification
  • EMT-B or Paramedic certification
  • Proficiency in dispatch software
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in EMS/911/Aviation dispatch or related healthcare field
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Ability to adapt to changing work demands
