We are currently seeking dedicated Communications Specialists/Dispatchers to join our team in New York, New York. This full-time position offers a starting hourly wage of $23.50 and involves managing critical medical transportation requests by effectively communicating and coordinating with medical crews serving the region. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to work efficiently under pressure and maintain focus on multiple aircraft operations simultaneously. The role demands exceptional attention to detail, the ability to remain calm in high-stress situations, and strong communication skills to operate radios, information systems, and other equipment associated with the Air Medical Communications Center. Communications Specialists/Dispatchers serve as essential links in the dispatch process, ensuring accurate and rapid relay of flight requests, adherence to safety protocols, and continuous collaboration with various internal teams including Operational Control, Maintenance, Aviation, and program staff. This position also requires ongoing professional development and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of customer service, regulatory compliance, and patient and crew safety. As representatives of Flight Com, these specialists not only manage critical communications but also support disaster response efforts and participate in evacuation exercises, reinforcing the organization's dedication to preparedness and operational excellence.
                - High school diploma or equivalent
 - Some work experience in dispatch or routing calls in customer service
 - Possession of NAACS, IAMTCS Certification or industry accepted equivalent
 - Valid Emergency Medical Dispatch certification
 - EMT-B or Paramedic certification
 - Proficiency in industry accepted dispatch software
 - Strong customer service skills with professionalism
 - Minimum two years experience in EMS, 911, aviation dispatching or two years as EMT or Paramedic in 911 or hospital environment or two years customer service/dispatching in non-911 environment with at least one year in healthcare, EMS or public safety
 - Ability to remain calm under stress
 - Ability to adapt and respond to evolving work demands
