The Foundation Room Barback role is designed for passionate, motivated, and driven individuals who possess an entrepreneurial spirit along with resourcefulness, innovation, and commitment. This part-time position offers a flexible schedule with work during nights and weekends, compensated by hourly wages plus tips. The primary responsibilities include maintaining, stocking, and ensuring cleanliness around the bar area along with performing additional tasks aimed at maximizing the efficiency and productivity of the bar crew. This role demands attention to detail, teamwork in a fast-paced and often high-stress environment, and adherence to House of Blues safety, health, and sanitation standards.
Within this dynamic role, the barback helps preserve an engaging atmosphere by circulating through work areas during shifts, assists coworkers as needed, follows opening and closing protocols, and ensures compliance with all venue policies and responsible alcohol service regulations. Tasks extend to physical demands such as lifting and moving supplies up to 25 pounds and performing side duties including stocking ice bins, liquor, beer, wine, and coolers, as well as maintaining bar equipment and waste management. The position may occasionally require work during special events hosted at the venue, making flexibility and reliability key traits for success.
Applicants must possess valid work authorization in the U.S. without the need for employer visa sponsorship. A positive attitude, clean appearance, punctual attendance, and tolerance of all cultures, music styles, and artistic expressions are essential. Responsible Alcohol Awareness Training certification is mandatory, with paid training available. Preferred qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and prior experience in high-volume, fast-paced environments.
