The department is seeking a skilled and certified Maintenance Supervisor who will be instrumental in fulfilling its mission of maintaining these public assets at the highest standards through effective repairs, maintenance, and construction work on buildings and equipment.
This Maintenance Supervisor position is designated as safety and security sensitive, underscoring the critical importance of adhering to safety protocols and regulations. The role involves performing carpentry, minor welding, painting, concrete work, and operating various tools and machinery, emphasizing a wide range of technical skills and practical experience. The Maintenance Supervisor will also oversee Parks Maintenance Workers and part-time staff, guiding and supporting them to complete daily operational and maintenance tasks efficiently. Key responsibilities involve preparing and applying protective materials, handling concrete mixing and finishing, constructing forms, installing playground and event equipment, and working collaboratively with skilled craftsmen on utility and irrigation system installations. The role requires the ability to operate commercial vehicles, including obtaining and maintaining a valid Arkansas Class B Commercial Driver's License within ninety days of employment.
