The position available is for a full-time Pilot located in Cheyenne, Wyoming. This role is classified as a permanent full-time and non-exempt position, with an attractive hourly wage of $49.84. The pilot will serve as both Pilot-in-Command and Second-in-Command for single and multi-engine turbine jet aircraft that are equipped for photogrammetric and survey flights to support WYDOT's various transportation missions. The pilot will be tasked with flying complex flight routes, often in challenging airspace and weather conditions, during both day and night hours. Key responsibilities include flight planning, managing flight data, coordinating passenger loading, and maintaining aircraft flight publications and software. The pilot must also maintain readiness and fitness for flight during standby periods and times when not assigned to a flight. The role carries a significant emphasis on safety, flight efficiency, and operational excellence. Candidates are expected to be knowledgeable in relevant aviation regulations, risk management, and aviation principles while effectively collaborating with other personnel to ensure smooth operation of the flight department. Candidates with advanced certifications such as an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) license and CE-500 type rating, as well as substantial flight hours, are preferred. This position includes a $2,000 hiring bonus subject to eligibility criteria and completion of at least one year of service.   • Bachelor's degree
  • 0-2 years of relevant piloting experience
  • pilot's license with commercial certificate and instrument rating for single and multi-engine airplanes
  • 2000 hours total flying time, 1000 hours fixed-wing aircraft time, 750 hours pilot-in-command, 250 hours multi-engine airplane, 100 hours night flying, 100 hours actual or simulated instrument flying with 50 hours actual flight
