This role is for a Color Chemical Mixer, a pivotal position within LyondellBasell’s production operations. The Color Chemical Mixer is responsible for preparing and blending pigments, additives, and plastic resins to produce consistent and high-quality color formulations that meet stringent standards for plastic manufacturing processes. This role is integral to the production workflow, ensuring that color blends are accurately mixed according to specific formulas, quality is maintained through batch records, and necessary quality control checks are performed. The mixer operates a variety of specialized chemical mixing equipment and strictly adheres to safety and environmental protocols to maintain a safe working environment. Collaboration is essential in this role as the mixer works closely with production and quality teams to meet color standards and manufacturing goals. The job emphasizes hands-on technical skills including color matching, batch processing, and the use of basic laboratory techniques. Additionally, this role involves operating forklifts and requires wearing appropriate personal protective equipment, such as fire-resistant clothing, goggles, face shields, gloves, steel toe boots, hearing protection, and respirators.
The shift schedule for this position is from 11 pm to 7 am, Sunday through Thursday, and it offers a competitive starting wage of $23.06 per hour plus shift differential. This is a full-time position that requires flexibility including willingness to provide overtime coverage and respond to occasional plant call-outs. Proficiency with computer software applications is also necessary to manage production documentation and quality records effectively. Candidates must pass pre-employment testing that includes a physical exam, drug and alcohol screening, and background checks. - High school diploma or GED equivalency
- minimum 1 year experience as a technician, preferably in polymers testing, mixing or blending
- forklift operation experience preferred
