The role of the Assistant Chef at Harrah's is a critical leadership position within the culinary department, focusing on supporting the Executive Chef and Chef de Cuisine in the seamless operation of kitchen activities. This full-time role demands a blend of culinary expertise, operational management, and team leadership to uphold the high standards expected at a premier 5-star hospitality establishment. The Assistant Chef plays a pivotal role in maintaining food quality and presentation, managing Back of House (BOH) operations, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, including HACCP and SNHD standards. Responsibilities include overseeing staff assignments, product ordering and receiving, preparing detailed prep lists, quality checks at all stages of food preparation, and conducting internal inspections to maintain cleanliness and safety standards. This position involves active collaboration with the General Manager and front-of-house teams to deliver an exceptional guest experience, emphasizing teamwork and communication. The Assistant Chef is also responsible for fostering a positive and supportive work environment, mentoring culinary staff, and encouraging creativity and consistency in food production.
