The primary responsibility of the Chef is to oversee all culinary operations within the community, including menu planning, provisioning, kitchen safety, and the supervision of kitchen and dining room staff. The Chef will manage budgets, inventory, and ensure compliance with all food safety standards and regulations, while maintaining a clean, organized kitchen environment. Interaction with residents is an important part of the job, as the Chef plays a vital role in enhancing the residents' dining experience and satisfaction. In this position, the Chef will be an integral part of the community, sometimes fulfilling additional responsibilities such as acting as Manager-On-Duty on a rotating basis and stepping in to support culinary staff when necessary. • Two years experience cooking in a commercial kitchen preferred
• experience supervising kitchen staff preferred
• formal culinary training or associates degree in culinary arts preferred or 5 years of culinary experience
• current food handling license required as required by the state
