The Chef Manager position at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, plays a critical role within Aramark Healthcare’s mission to provide exceptional culinary experiences in healthcare settings. This full-time position involves managing culinary operations for three key points of service: patients, retail, and catering. The Chef Manager is responsible for developing and executing a variety of culinary solutions designed to meet and exceed customer preferences and nutritional requirements specific to a hospital environment. This role demands overseeing all aspects of food production, presentation, and service quality to ensure the highest standards are consistently met.
The Chef Manager will lead and train kitchen personnel, supervise all culinary activities, and coordinate operations effectively to maintain efficient workflow. Responsibilities also include estimating food consumption, managing inventory, and requisitioning necessary supplies to support continuous production. This position requires creativity and expertise in selecting, developing, and standardizing recipes, with an emphasis on maintaining consistent quality and presentation aesthetics.
Additionally, the Chef Manager must ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of kitchen equipment while upholding stringent safety and sanitation protocols vital in a healthcare setting. This position is ideal for culinary professionals with a passion for healthcare food service, possessing at least two years of culinary management experience, preferably with a background in high-volume production environments. A culinary arts degree or equivalent experience is highly valued, along with certifications like SERV Safe or knowledge of HACCP principles. - At least 2 years experience in culinary management
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of food safety standards such as SERV Safe or HACCP
- Experience in high volume food production
