The Program Coordinator III role at MUHA sits within the System Quality and Safety department, reporting directly to the Program Director for System Quality & Safety while providing essential operational support to the Chief and Administrator for Population Health. This role functions as a key operational hub and the "air traffic controller" for various population health program initiatives, ensuring the smooth execution and coordination of over 10 recurring executive-level governance meetings, as well as managing cross-functional projects that align with MUSC's Population Health strategic goals. This position requires a high degree of independence and initiative, offering critical support for strategic plan development, administrative functions including HR and payroll liaison activities, and process optimization efforts within the department. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering measurable outcomes that drive the population health agenda forward, supporting leaders in achieving operational excellence and programmatic success.
As a full-time salaried employee classified under the Health-27 pay grade, this role is structured around a standard 40-hour workweek and encompasses a diverse set of responsibilities centered on operational oversight, communication facilitation, and project management within a healthcare environment. The Program Coordinator III must be adept in advanced Microsoft Office tools such as Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint to manage executive communications, produce detailed meeting minutes, and maintain action logs critical for executive decision-making. Furthermore, familiarity with enterprise HR/payroll systems like OurDay and Axiom, as well as capabilities in financial tracking, are highly preferred to support the administrative scope of the position effectively.
With a minimum requirement of a bachelor’s degree in Health Administration, Business, Public Health, or related fields and at least seven years of progressively responsible professional experience—three of which should involve supporting executive leadership—this position demands a seasoned professional skilled in coordination and leadership support within complex organizational structures. Candidates with project management certifications such as PMP, CAPM, or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, or those willing to obtain such credentials within 12 months, will find themselves well-positioned for success in this role.
