The role of a CDL Service Porter at Transwest involves the safe and efficient movement of vehicles within the company’s property as well as to and from customer locations. This position primarily focuses on operating commercial vehicles such as medium and heavy-duty trucks and recreational vehicles, ensuring timely pickups and deliveries that support the service department and customer needs. The CDL Service Porter plays a vital role in maintaining operational flow by transporting vehicles for service appointments, customer requests, or other company needs. Working as a CDL Service Porter requires a high level of attention to detail and safety practices. Drivers will be required to conduct vehicle inspections prior to and after use, report mechanical issues promptly, and maintain vehicle cleanliness. Additionally, the role involves minor detailing work, greeting and assisting customers when they visit the location, and answering service-related calls to provide exceptional customer service. The position demands adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working and driving environment. This is an hourly position with compensation ranging from $24.00 to $29.50 per hour and includes second-shift hours from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM. • High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid class A or B commercial driver's license and MVR in good standing
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
• Ability to successfully complete a General Abilities Assessment and pass post-offer background check, physical and drug screening
• Ability to lift 50 lbs consistently and up to 75 lbs occasionally
• Ability to climb in and out of vehicles
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to perform manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination tasks
