The Catering Sales Manager position within University Housing is a pivotal role responsible for managing catering services that support both on-campus and off-site events. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Dining for Catering & Conference Services, this managerial role involves being the first point of contact for catering customers and providing expert guidance throughout the ordering process. The Catering Sales Manager coordinates closely with the Catering Chef and Catering Operations Manager to ensure that all events meet customer expectations and run smoothly. This role requires hands-on management of a three-person office support team and includes making independent decisions regarding staffing, training, menu planning, and daily operational activities. The position also holds significant budgetary responsibilities, including managing staff allocations, pricing menus, purchasing food and equipment, and overseeing income and expenses to maintain operational viability. The role is fundamental to creating memorable catering experiences that align with the university’s standards for quality and customer service. This is a full-time, regular position with a salary range of $60,000 to $66,000 per year, offering competitive compensation consistent with the OS-OA05 Fiscal Year 2025-2026 band. Candidates are expected to embody and promote the university’s values of inclusivity and diversity while exercising creativity and leadership in menu development and catering event management.
  • three years of experience in large catering restaurant or hotel food service operation including one year of catering or banquet experience
