El Cajon, CA, USA, CA Full-Time $24 - $26
Hotel del Coronado is a world-renowned, historic beach resort situated on Coronado Island, just minutes away from Downtown San Diego, California. Established in 1888, this iconic Victorian wooden structure is one of the last surviving resorts of its kind in the world. Spanning 28 acres, the property features over 750 rooms, cottages, and villas alongside 65,000 square feet of flexible banquet space. The resort is enhanced by a variety of dining options, including four restaurants, two bars, a food truck, a marketplace, an ice cream shop, and in-room dining services. Following a substantial $400 million renovation and expansion, the resort has become even more stunning and is positioned to offer exceptional guest experiences combining historic charm with modern luxury. The role of Catering and Events Coordinator at Hotel del Coronado is a full-time position requiring availability on various shifts including weekdays, weekends, and holidays. The pay rate ranges from $24.00 to $26.00 per hour, depending on applicable and specialized experience. The position reports directly to the Director of Events and also supports the Director of Social Catering Sales, making it integral to the success of the resort's catering and event services. This role is pivotal in ensuring smooth event planning operations and delivering high-quality service to clients. As a Catering and Events Coordinator, the primary responsibility will involve assisting and supporting the Catering & Events team with essential administrative tasks. These include creating and updating banquet event orders (BEOs), diagrams, and event resumes, managing internal distribution and maintenance of event documentation, and facilitating communications between internal teams and external clients. A secondary but crucial part of the role involves organizing pre- and post-conference meetings including note-taking and addressing VIP needs such as amenity coordination. The Coordinator will also manage office operations, including supplies and equipment maintenance, to ensure optimal departmental function. This role requires proficiency in logistics related to meeting spaces, understanding banquet menus, dietary restrictions, ADA regulations, and client satisfaction through site inspections and pre-planning visits. Coordinators will be expected to facilitate contract generation, maintain direct contact with clients as needed, and promote effective communication using internal systems like Delphi, HotSOS, OnQ PM, Birchstreet, and Microsoft Office programs. Joining Hotel del Coronado means becoming part of the Hilton family, a global hospitality leader since 1919 known for innovation, integrity, and quality. Hilton’s mission emphasizes delivering exceptional guest experiences, where teamwork, leadership, ownership, and urgency play a central part in the workplace culture. This environment not only nurtures professional growth but also encourages team members to embody core company values and key attributes such as quality, productivity, dependability, customer focus, and adaptability. Working for Hilton at Hotel del Coronado offers a collaborative atmosphere where tradition meets modern hospitality standards. Team members are recognized as the heart of the hotel, working together to create unforgettable experiences for guests who seek both relaxation and celebration in a picturesque seaside setting.
