This job opportunity is for a Seasonal Cashier position at Buc-ee's, with a pay rate of $18.00 per hour. The seasonal role is designed to cover the peak business period from November through January, accommodating the high volume of customers during the holiday season. The Seasonal Cashier is a critical member of the Buc-ee's team, tasked with delivering fast, friendly, and accurate checkout services to customers. The position requires flexibility, teamwork, and a willingness to take on a variety of duties to meet the dynamic needs of the store during the busy season. The Seasonal Cashier will be expected to provide exceptional customer service by ensuring a clean, friendly, and well-stocked experience for every shopper. The role involves operating POS systems to accurately transact customer purchases, including handling beer sales in compliance with state alcoholic beverage laws. Attention to detail is essential, as Cashiers will balance cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts, process refunds and exchanges according to company policy, and settle shift reports accurately. Maintaining a clean checkout area and assisting with merchandising tasks such as stocking, rotating products, and labeling items will also be important aspects of the role. In addition to transactional duties, the Seasonal Cashier acts as a first responder to customer complaints, ensuring that any issues are addressed promptly and effectively to maintain Buc-ee's high standards of customer satisfaction. Flexibility is important, as the position requires availability to work weekends, holidays, and during the store's busiest days. The job also involves physical demands such as standing and walking on hard surfaces, bending, reaching, climbing, kneeling, squatting, and occasionally lifting and carrying items weighing up to 40 to 50 pounds. • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
• basic math skills
• relevant cashier experience is preferred
• listen to the needs of the customer and communicate clearly
• attain mastery knowledge of P.O.S. functions
• able to function in a fast-paced work environment
• must be able to stand and walk on a hard or concrete surface, bend, reach, climb, kneel, squat, reach overhead and side to side and able to lift and carry up to 40-50 pounds on a regular basis
• perform cleaning and light maintenance with prescribed chemicals
• may include periodic exposure to all outdoor conditions at all times of day and year
