We are currently seeking a talented Cake Decorator to join our bakery team for a seasonal position running from April 1 through December 31. This role is integral to our culinary operations as the Cake Decorator will be responsible for the creation and decoration of wedding and special occasion cakes, ensuring that each cake meets the highest standards of quality and artistry. The position offers approximately 30 hours of work per week and compensates at a rate of $14 per hour. Since the role is seasonal, there will be a temporary layoff during January, February, and March. As a Cake Decorator at The Riverview, you will play a vital role in preparing visually stunning and delicious cakes that serve as centerpieces at many of our weddings and events. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience with icing round and square cakes and demonstrate proficiency in a variety of icing techniques. Your primary responsibilities will include baking cakes and cupcakes for weddings and special occasions, labeling and organizing baked goods, trimming and slicing cakes, filling them with exquisite mousses and fillings, then icing, stacking, and decorating the cakes to meet event specifications. Besides technical skills, this role requires strong time management abilities, the capability to follow detailed instructions, and a collaborative spirit to work effectively within our team environment. Meeting tight deadlines without compromising on quality is key in this fast-paced seasonal position. Occasionally, you may be asked to provide bakery coverage during events, requiring flexibility and adaptability.
