The department serves hot meals, pastries, espresso, tea, and beverages to students, staff, faculty, and visitors, ensuring high standards of customer service and food quality.
The Snack Bar Lead position at Bellevue College is a full-time, regular role reporting directly to the Assistant Retail Manager. This position is responsible for overseeing operations in one of the on-campus food retail locations, such as cafes, food trucks, or cafeteria servery points. The Snack Bar Lead supervises retail clerks and student employees, ensuring smooth operation, exceptional customer service, and compliance with hygiene and safety standards. The role also involves preparing specialty coffee drinks, boba tea, and selling snacks and light lunches, emphasizing quality, portion control, and recipe standardization. Maintaining inventory, cleanliness, and equipment care is vital to this role, alongside managing cash transactions and preparing operational reports.
This 10-month cyclical position offers a competitive salary ranging from $3,179 to $4,199 per month, commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience. The role adheres to the Washington Public Employee Association of Higher Education collective bargaining agreement and is overtime eligible. - Must have King County food handler's permit within 14 days of hire
- At least two years of experience in food service work including one year of lead experience or equivalent education/experience
- Ability to demonstrate effective communication skills and ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience with point of sale (POS) and cash handling systems
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Ability to work on several tasks simultaneously
