The Cabin Safety Instructor role at FlightSafety International is a critical position responsible for delivering exceptional training and ensuring that aviation safety standards and practices are upheld in accordance with industry regulations and FlightSafety's training principles. This role involves instructing clients from varied backgrounds who are undergoing core, specialty, or enrichment cabin safety courses, including initial and recurrent training, company-specific drills, and executive emergency training. The Cabin Safety Instructor must be proficient in developing and preparing training materials tailored to meet client needs while maintaining adherence to the applicable curriculum. The instructor is also expected to complete accurate and timely training records and maintain qualifications in line with FlightSafety and regulatory requirements.
In addition to direct instruction, the Cabin Safety Instructor plays an integral role in ensuring that training programs are effective and impactful by analyzing client training requirements such as Client Training Qualification (CTQ) and Risk Management System (RMS) processes. The position demands strong knowledge of aviation safety protocols, first-class facilitation, and customer service skills, as well as excellent verbal and written communication abilities. The instructor must also demonstrate intermediate problem-solving skills and possess technical aptitude specific to aviation training.
Physically, this position requires a range of physical abilities including standing, walking, climbing, and the capability to manipulate controls within flight simulators. The role demands the ability to lift and move weights of up to 80 pounds occasionally, swim 200 yards in chlorinated or saltwater environments, and perform water rescue training as part of the instructional program. Working conditions may include exposure to moving mechanical parts, extreme weather conditions, and moderate noise levels.
