The role of Busser/Runner at Red Lobster is critical to maintaining the seamless dining experience that guests expect. This position involves multiple responsibilities centered around supporting the front-of-house team by ensuring tables are clean, well-stocked, and ready for each guest. Bussers are responsible for welcoming guests with a friendly demeanor, setting up the station for shifts, and ensuring tables have the necessary silverware, condiments, and other essentials. Additionally, the role includes re-filling drinks, pre-bussing tables to prepare them for the next guests, and running hot food from the kitchen to guests efficiently and safely.
The Busser/Runner also assists servers by providing timely support to enhance service quality. Maintaining strict adherence to food safety and cleanliness standards is a vital part of this role, as is clearing dishes, resetting tables, and cleaning seats and floors. Communication skills are essential, particularly in signaling table readiness to hosts and servers and coordinating with kitchen and dishwashing staff during breakdown duties. This role requires physical stamina and the ability to work within fast-paced environments, often standing and moving for extended periods.
