This department is seeking a dedicated and diligent Building Attendant II to join their team. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a standard 40-hour workweek, primarily scheduled Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with some flexibility based on departmental needs. The position is classified as an expected-to-continue role, offering long-term employment stability. Compensation for this role starts at $37,440 annually, with potential increases based on experience and qualifications. The Building Attendant II will be a key contributor in maintaining the overall cleanliness, safety, and upkeep of the university apartments and associated facilities. This role involves performing a broad range of custodial and maintenance tasks, including cleaning apartment interiors, communal areas, laundry rooms, and maintenance shops. Duties extend to specialized cleaning operations such as stripping and waxing vinyl composite tile floors, thorough floor care, and cleaning of mechanical equipment like exhaust fans and air conditioning vents. The incumbent will also perform inspections to identify necessary maintenance and safety issues, actively participating in fire and life safety inspections multiple times per year. This role demands a strong commitment to safety protocols, exceptional attention to detail, physical stamina, and effective communication skills, as the attendant will regularly interact with supervisors, contractors, staff, and student residents. In addition, candidates must hold a valid Class C driver's license, with the capacity to provide a current three-year driving record and meet the university's driving eligibility requirements. Successful candidates will also be required to pass strength and agility testing before employment.
