The Per Diem Environmental Services position at Mozaic Senior Life plays a vital role in upholding the community's high standards of cleanliness and safety. This role primarily involves performing various cleaning and maintenance duties during the first shift, focused on creating an orderly, hygienic, and pleasant environment. Reporting to the Director and Supervisor of Facility and Environmental Services, as well as the Shift Leader, this position is essential in supporting the facility’s smooth daily operations. Although a supervisory role is not required, the position demands attention to detail, reliability, and a commitment to maintaining the integrity of the senior living space.
The Environmental Services staff is entrusted with comprehensive cleaning responsibilities that cover all common and resident areas. These duties include, but are not limited to, dusting, disinfecting surfaces, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and the proper disposal of trash and infectious waste. Furthermore, the role extends to specialized cleaning tasks such as washing cubicle curtains, vents, walls, windows, and equipment, as well as handling soiled linens and supplying fresh linens as needed. Maintaining utility rooms, storage cabinets, and ensuring that the environment adheres to the safety and health standards is a crucial aspect of the job.
Consistent with organizational policy, the Environmental Services team members take prompt action on service requests related to special functions, moving items, or addressing any urgent cleaning needs. The position requires someone who can collaborate effectively with supervisors, fellow staff members, residents, and visitors, communicating concerns or proposing procedural improvements to enhance operational efficiency. Attendance at monthly, quarterly, or annual meetings and strict adherence to safety protocols, including fire and emergency procedures, are important components of this role.
